John Duff (JD, LLM, Associate Professor, School of the Environment, UMB) and Agnieszka Lekka-Kowalik (PhD, MSc, Faculty of Philosophy, KUL) will work build upon existing cross-disciplinary research at the intersection of science and faith as part of an effort to develop dialogue on science, ethics and religions that will serve both universities and create a platform for collaboration between UMB and KUL. Those initial efforts will be designed with an eye toward developing a collaborative research proposal that will provide new insights into the manner and methods of faith communities in he development of environmental stewardship and management principles. The contemplated dialog and research will in turn, strengthen each university’s capacity to teach on these topics.
This proposal reflects an approach employed by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (MAS) to engage researchers and relevant stakeholders in a Dialogue on Science Ethics and Religion (DoSER).
